To my valued customers: This tackle business came into being in the spring of 1991 as a result of my combined interest in fly fishing, making bamboo fly rods and my professional life as an engineer and designer in manufacturing organizations. In short, I have been a “maker of things” all my adult life. These circumstances permitted me to pursue making rods and reels to my own design and sense of style and to provide economical, hard to find rod hardware (Rodmakers Findings) to anglers and rod builders. I have always operated the business on a part time basis. More recently due to the “economic conditions” that changed our lives here, finding the time for making rods, reels and components has become impossible. This is a direct result of my changed employment status and its total effect on my family and household. I have no choice but to set aside rod building for now. There is simply no time available now to do it as well as I need to. Reel building will also be severly constrained for the forseeable future. A number of reels are in process and once they are completed, will be offered to those individuals who have expressed interest in them with the remainder offered on this site for sale. I hope to work on them during the winter with the notion of having them completed sometime in the spring of 2011. As before, because I cannot apply regular, consistent effort in the shop, I cannot make any further commitments for reels at this time except to offer a place on a waiting list that may be of considerable length. Rod builders who have an interest in Rodmakers Findings should first write or call with a description of your wishes before sending any order or payment. I will produce parts as I can and when available, will notify the inquirers of their availability at which time the transaction may be completed. During the past 19 years of pursuing this craft I have made the acquaintance of innumerable fine individuals and customers. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to know these fine people and to assist them in their enjoyment of their angling and rod building and regret any inconvenience recent delayed orders have had on thier pursuits.
